Title:
New FAA Safety Alert issued for Slow Flight and Stalls Standards
Topic:
Loss of control in flight is the leading cause of fatal general aviation accidents & tops the NTSB's 2017 Most Wanted List
Date and Time:
Tuesday, June 27, 2017, starting at 19:00 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Mordechai Levin - FAA Safety Team Lead Representative
Brief Description:

Loss of control in flight continues to be the leading cause of fatal general aviation accidents in the United States and commercial aviation worldwide. As a result, the prevention of loss of control in flight in general aviation has been retained on the National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) Most Wanted List of Safety Improvements for 2017. With the release of the Private Pilot – Airplane ACS in June 2016, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) revised the slow flight evaluation standard to reflect maneuvering without a stall warning (e.g., aircraft buffet, stall horn, etc.).

Download the attached Safety Alert for Operators  160101 - and bring it with you. We will discuss how best to prepare for the Stalls portion of the new Private Pilot Practical Test.
