Title:
Aging Aircraft Inspection and Maintenance - Cessna Aircraft Focus
Topic:
Special inspection and maintenance considerations for aging aircraft.
Date and Time:
Saturday, June 10, 2017, starting at 11:00 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
FAA Airworthiness Inspector - Tim Sokol
Brief Description:

Most aircraft operated today have far surpassed their design operating life. Manufacturers such as Cessna, Piper and Beechcraft never expected these aircraft to be operated beyond 50 years.  As a result, aging aircraft programs were developed to ensure safe continued operation.  Most people are unaware of these requirements because aging aircraft items are not normally inspected on an Annual Inspection. These special inspection items should be considered when owning or operating an old aircraft.

This 1 hour segment will focus mostly on Cessna aircraft and areas that are highly susceptible to fatigue wear and corrosion.  It will review how to minimize the cost without compromising safety.  It could be a useful tool for anyone considering buying and older aircraft.
