What's next? You did your private pilot training in a lightweight trainer, like a C152, C172, or Warrior. Gears down and locked in place, where you can keep an eye on them. Perfect for keeping the costs low and learning the basics. But now what?
Maybe a commercial certificate is in your future. Maybe you want to work toward being a CFI? Maybe you just want to cruise a little faster, without gear dragging in the wind slowing you down. For these and other reasons, training in a complex airplane with retractable landing gear may be your next best step.
In this seminar, San Carlos Flight Center CFIs introduce the key areas you will need to safely and smoothly transition to a complex airplane, and cover the required ground training you'll need to work toward your complex endorsement. According to regulations, all you'll need is flight training and a logbook endorsement from your flight instructor. From a safety standpoint, a competent pilot will know he or she needs this is a step to take with great caution. Expect to make changes to alter or improve your standard procedures to ensure that those gear are always right where they need to be.
