Ever wonder what you would do when your single engine airplane turns into a glider? Think Simon and Garfunkle's "Sounds of Silence". Dr. Jeremiah "Jerry" Jackson will describe what happened during a Phase I test flight of a new RV-10 when it suddenly lost all oil pressure, suffered an engine failure and made a forced landing in the mountains of Southern California. Jerry will candidly relate what he did to survive the crash unhurt and what lessons he learned from the experience as Simon and Garfunkle sing "Sounds of Silence".

Jerry is an instrument rated pilot with over 3,000 hours of flight time, an accomplished skydiver with over 2,000 parachute jumps. He has built three aircraft: an RV-6A, a Murphy Mouse and an RV-10. He is a regular speaker at EAA's Air Venture and has published two aviation books. He holds one national and 12 world records in aviation.
