Title:
Under the Cowling with Pilot and Mechanic Jorge Sanchez
Topic:
What’s important mechanically to the pilot.
Date and Time:
Saturday, April 1, 2017, starting at 12:00 Pacific Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Jorge Sanchez
Brief Description:

This installment in our Meet the Mechanic series takes us to the heart of the airplane: Under the Cowling.  Meet the Mechanic is a series of discussion groups, seminars, and events where experienced aircraft mechanics share knowledge and expertise with the general aviation community.  Here is your chance to see an aircraft engine, with the front cowling removed.

Join Jorge Robles Sanchez, SCFC Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic and Pilot, and ask him anything you’ve been wanting to know about the SFCF fleet.  Jorge has extensive experience with the SCFC rental fleet, which is comprised of Cessna, Warrior, and American Champion airplanes.

The event is designed to help pilots become more informed and more competent about the airplanes we operate.  Not only is it fascinating to see, it will also help you understand the system better, and ultimately help you if you ever need to manage an inflight malfunction or irregularity.

The session will be an extended Q&A period, so bring those common and uncommon questions. We may not be able to answer everything, especially if it's very make/model specific, but we can address the most important things common across all aircraft.

Jorge Robles Sanchez, first started working as a mechanic at the age of 14 in Guatemala along side his four brothers.  When he turned 20 he became a pilot and flew as a Bush Pilot in Guatemala until coming to the USA.  Here he got his A&P has been working on Aircraft ever since.  He has been with the Flight Center for 6 months now, and has 1000s of hours working on aircraft.  Jorge is also a competitive salsa dancer and loves reading and learning about philosophy, religions and cultures.
