The StandDown will start at 4 pm and go until 8:30 pm and has a registration fee of $50.00. This includes all course materials and dinner. Speakers for the evening are as follows:

  • Troy Brockway, K-State Aviation Professor, who will touch on both Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Upset Recovery.
  • Tom Turner, Executive Director of the Air Safety Foundation American Bonanza Society, who will discuss why it is important to master your aircraft.
  • Seth Short, Navy Pilot and “Top Gun” Instructor, will be discussing military aviation safety culture and military aviation training.
  • John “Dusty” Dowd, Aerial Applicator and Unlimited Air Race Pilot, will talk about safety in aerial application and as an Air Race pilot.
