Title:
In-Flight Weather Decision-Making
Topic:
In-Flight Weather Decision-Making
Date and Time:
Wednesday, March 15, 2017, starting at 19:30 Pacific Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Alan Marcum
Brief Description:

We usually focus on pre-flight weather briefings and deciding if we should launch of not. What about the in-flight decisions we make about the weather? How do we get information? What information is available? How can we use that information to improve flight safety and comfort? We’ll examine several different specific instances of making important decisions while flying in the weather, based on real flight experiences.

Our speaker, Alan Marcum, PPASEL (Instrument), has been flying for over thirty years, from Cambridge, U.K. to Lihue, Hawai'i, in airplanes from a Tiger Moth and a Waco to a Malibu and a Mooney. He bases his Mooney at Palo Alto, where he learned to fly. Alan is a computer scientist by profession.
