Flying in the area surrounding the Grand Canyon offers pilots a unique opportunity to improve their skills, due to the Special Flight Rules Area designated around the park. The rules help separate visitors on the ground from aircraft noise, and help protect GA pilots from commercial air tours. Join Dave Kramer for a review of flying in the SFRA.
Dave Kramer is an instrument-rated private pilot with his tailwheel endorsement. By day he is a physician specializing in ophthalmology. When not working or flying, he plays ice hockey and enjoys time with his family.
