Brief Description:
We will discuss the definition for Loss of Control (LOC), provide examples of LOC, look at the factors that lead to LOC, including inadvertent entry into instrument meteorological conditions (IIMC), and study the Maneuver Initiation Envelope (MIE).

Nationwide Loss of Control (LOC) is one of the leading causes of incidents and accidents. By reviewing LOC occurrences our goal is to help the helicopter pilot community to have a decrease in accidents and incidents as it relates to LOC. The Little Rock Flight Standards District Office is supporting this event and our special guest speaker will be Steve Foster. Steve Foster has a wealth of experience: He is an ATP - Rotorcraft Helicopter; Commercial - Airplane MEL, SEL, SES, Rotorcraft Gyroplane & Instrument Airplane; CFI - Rotorcraft Helicopter and Gyroplane & ASEL, AMEL; Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) - Rotorcraft Helicopter & ASEL. He has 10,000+hours PIC and has been flying for 43 years.
