Title:
IMC Club Meeting - Mastering the Art of Instrument Flying
Topic:
Discussion of Real-World Instrument Scenarios
Date and Time:
Monday, August 8, 2016, starting at 18:30 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Rick Solana, Moderator
Brief Description:

This training uses real-world instrument scenarios to train pilots. It emphasizes the development of critical thinking and flight management skills, rather than solely on traditional maneuver-based skills. The philosophy is the accelerated acquisition of higher-level decision-making skills. The IMC Club provides organized “hangar flying” focused on building proficiency and safety in instrument flying. We will discuss real-world instrument scenarios and how you can mitigate the risk of your instrument flying. Safety proficiency further developed by pilots sharing their knowledge and experiences. You do not have to be instrument rated to attend. Click on the link below to register TODAY!

What is the IMC Club?

IMC Club is the brain child of Radek Wyrzykowski; a Master Certified Flight Instructor, Instrument and Multi-Engine Instructor.  As a flight instructor in Norwood, Massachusetts, Radek developed a volunteer mentor program to help instrument pilots improve their proficiency, and they loved it.

What is the purpose of IMC Club?

At IMC Club, our purpose is to promote instrument flying, proficiency and safety.  Along with IFR flying and monthly local chapter meetings, we offer a resource-rich website which provides an electronic experience base.

Our intent is to create a community of pilots in order to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety and build proficiency in instrument flying.  IMC Club chapters offer monthly meetings in which pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences.

Do you need to bring anything?

First, bring your thoughts or story and be willing to share them with the group.  This meeting is very interactive.  Participation by the group is a key element to the IMC Club meeting.

Others have found it helpful to bring along a copy of their flight manual, GPS manual, and charts.  If you navigate with an iPad, bring it along.

Who can attend?

You don't need an instrument rating to attend.  This meeting is open to all current, non-current, and future instrument pilots.
