Brief Description:

Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B), a key element in the FAA’s plan for its Next Generation Air Transportation System (Next Gen), has been a much-talked-about topic within aviation circles. As many know, the deadline for being compliance with ADS-B “out” to fly within certain airspace (Class A, B, C, & E [>10,000’ but not below 2,500’ AGL] is January 1, 2020. This date is less than four years away.

Joel Gibbons, Northeast Aftermarket Sales Representative, for L-3 Aviation Products/L-3 Avionics Systems will speak to the multiple issues associated with ADS-B technology.  His presentation will highlight the benefits, cost, timeline for compliance, and potential pitfalls of waiting too long to install ADS-B technology in your airplane.

Guidelines for IFR and VFR pilots will be presented. A question and answer and social segment will follow.
