Title:
G1000 - Understanding On-board Weather
Topic:
G1000 Weather Data Link Page
Date and Time:
Saturday, April 30, 2016, starting at 12:00 Pacific Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Reid Raisanen
Brief Description:

Learning the G1000 includes developing a working understanding of all the functionality buried in the MFD page groups. For aircraft equipped with a satellite weather data link, the Weather Data Link page in the Map page group provides you access to a rich wealth of information. But do you understand it?

Your job is to know how to get the weather information you need, without spending too much time with your eyes inside the cockpit. The best way to learn G1000 is to spend quality time ON THE GROUND learning about the features available.

San Carlos Flight Center CFI Reid Raisanen will walk carefully through each feature of the G1000 Weather Data Link page to allow a better understand each weather feature and the benefits and limitations it brings to improving the safety of our flight.. One important point in the discussion will be learning how not to get yourself in trouble, by reading more accuracy from the displays than they actually provide. Understanding weather is important. Understanding when not to trust outdated or vague weather information is just as important.

This seminar is part of San Carlos Flight Center's G1000 series of safety seminars - a regular series investigating various individual aspects of the complex G1000 avionics package.
