Proper Break in Procedure on the Brake Linings and Brake Discs
Ben McNamara, Aviation Products Systems, Inc.

Proper break in procedure on the brake linings and brake disc. It is very important that the mechanics break these pieces in so they get the proper life on them. Many Mechanics are unaware that when linings/ discs/ or both when they are changed out. It doesn’t have to just be PMA brake linings and brake discs that have the break in procedure but as well as the OEM have to have this done to it. I will discuss the different types of brake systems, adherent and abrasive, and their specific unique break in procedure. Ben McNamara has been with APS for 4 years. He graduated from Southern Illinois
University Carbondale (SIUC) December 2004. He obtained a BS degree in Aviation Maintenance Management. He also has his A&P license which he got prior to SIUC in 2003.
This seminar qualifys for IA Renewal. Click here for information on maintenance program.
