Seminar Description:  Want to know more about how to identify areas that may lead to icing and turbulence?  Well, let's talk about using satellite imagery and model graphics to help identify potential flight problems.  We'll go over basic patterns that will enhance the icing and wind/turbulence potential.  Tools will include satellite imagery, radar and some web-tools that pilots can use in their flight planning process. 

Presenter Bio: Clinton Rockey, a meteorologist from the National Weather Service forecast office in Portland, Oregon.  He grew up and lived in Kansas (25 years), Wyoming and Arizona, experiencing all kinds of weather. After a short four year stint in Boston, he relocated to Eugene, Oregon to start my forecasting career with the National Weather Service as a weather observer and forecaster.  Since 1995, he have been with the forecast office in Portland, where he continues to forecast for marine and aviation, as well as for fire weather. He has been a pilot (VFR only) since 1997.
