Brief Description:

Does the thought of winter flying put a knot in your stomach?  Perhaps you feel it would be best to wait until Spring to spread your wings again.  It doesn't have to be that way.  Winter flying can be safe and fun.  We will discuss the steps that every pilot should take to enjoy flying during the crisp, clear days of winter.  Join John Gary (DPE, CFI, FAASTeam Rep) and Sue Tholen (CFI, FAASTeam Rep) for an informative and interesting presentation.  Flight instructors are encouraged to attend with their students.  Click the link below and register TODAY.

Directions to Venue:

Take I-95 to Exit 19. Go north on Rte 109 for 7.5 miles. Southern Maine Aviation will be on your left behind the Lucas Country Store (1.5 miles from the intersection of Rt's 4 & 109). This Event will be held in the Southern Maine Aviation "Event Hangar".  The location is in the same building as "The Cockpit Café".  There's plenty of parking for fly-ins on the East Ramp.

This Event will include Southern Maine Aviation's 5 Alarm Chili Cook-Off beginning at noon. Attendees are welcome to participate in the Cook-Off event by entering their favorite spicy Mexican dish.  If you don't want to cook, please take part in judging the best entry dishes.  As always Southern Maine Aviation will accept donations of $6 for lunch.  All donations collected will go to families in need of home heating fuel assistance.
