"Participation in this meeting does not result in credit for CFI renewal"

The FAASTeam would like to extend our sincere "Thank You" to Moody Aviation for their continuous support and participation in the FAA's Safety Program and for providing the venue for this event.

  1. DPE Jay Bigley will discuss the brand new Airmen Certification Standards.
  2. CFI Gene Arnold will give you some insight into "communication" between the student/applicant and the instructor, or lack thereof.
  3. DPE Judy Kirkwood will discuss DRONES!!!  How close have you come to one in flight?

This discussion is an opportunity to discuss your questions and thoughts with other pilots, flight instructors, Designated Pilot Examiners and the FAA.  This educational experience is your opportunity to learn from people who have seen the in flight mistakes and who have made the mistakes themselves, so you don't have to.  No matter how many hours you have in your logbook, you will never know everything there is to know about aviation.  You are flying in a fluid environment that is constantly changing, which requires you, the Pilot in Command, to make decisions based upon information coming at you at 100-200 mph.  Are you ready?  Get prepared for your next big challenge in flight from interacting with those pilots that have seen more than most.

Together as a Team, the Instructors and Designated Pilot Examiners can combine their extensive knowledge and experience with sound judgment to create and provide the most comprehensive and effective pilot training experience, followed by a reliable and effective evaluation.

The FAASTeam would like to thank the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE) for their participation and contribution to the CFI Open Forum effort, without which we would not have been able to offer this opportunity to the aviation community.
