Our speakers are Jon Egeler, Steve Quigg and Captain Mitchell Morrison.

Jon is the President and CEO of Mission Safety International. An alumnus of Moody Aviation, he served eight years in Africa with AIM Air as a pilot/mechanic and Safety Officer. Jon taught aviation maintenance at Moody Aviation before becoming President and CEO of MSI in 2004. He was instrumental in developing the AIRMAP insurance program and the RSVP risk management program used in many schools. Jon will begin the afternoon at 13:15 with an in depth look at the sole fatal accident in missionary aviation in 2014. He will examine what happened, discuss the events that culminated in the accident, and offer some of the lessons to be learned.

Steve is MSI's Vice President of Field Services. He earned an Aviation and Electrical Engineering Technologies degree from LeTorneau College, has completed advanced flight and maintenance training at Moody Aviation, and studied cross cultural ministries at Asbury Theological Seminary. A veteran of 20 years of missionary aviation in the Congo and Nigeria, he has learned many lessons he strives to share. Through MSI Steve offers safety audits and training to far flung missions around the world. Steve will pick up the discussion at 14:00 using AOPA's recently released video "Beyond the Forced Landing" to explore practical steps pilots can take to improve their chances of being found after a forced landing.

Captain Morrison ("Mitch") is the current Deputy Director of Coast Guard Health, Safety, and Work-Life in Washington, DC. From 2012 to 2014 he was Chief of Aviation Safety in Washington, DC. There he implemented a Safety Management System - based framework promoting a culture of safety and leadership at 26 air stations operating over 200 aircraft and employing over 3,500 personnel. "Mitch" is ATP rated, with 6,800 hours in airplanes and helicopters. he has executed over 300 ship board landings, and directed flight safety programs at 3 Coast Guard Air Stations. "Mitch" has held several significant leadership positions during his career. He has a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Northcentral Universities School of Business and Technology Management, Master of Aeronautical Science Degree and Bachelor of Professional Aeronautics Degrees from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and has served as ERA adjunct faculty from 2002 to 2012. He published his first book, 'Teamworks', in June 2013. "Mitch" will wrap up the afternoon at 14:50 with a discussion of what leadership is, and what it takes to grow in a leadership role.
