Free parking for attendees to the event is available in the employee parking lot. If asked, please indicate that you are attending the SYR Stand Down Safety event.
The program will commence promptly at 9:00 AM and will end at 3:00PM.

Jim Ambrose, a FAA Safety Team Lead Representative and host of the Syracuse Stand Down for Safety will discuss how establishing good habits in your flying will reduce your risk, increase safety and make for a more enjoyable flying experience.
Gene Benson, a FAA Safety Team Lead Representative has provided a video presentation on his vision for the Seven Traits of Successful Pilots!
David St. George, FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and FAA Safety Team Lead Representative will present Nothing Fails Like Success (Seven Ideas to Instantly Make You a Safer Pilot!).
Rob Belisario, DPE will present The Dreaded Silence, a discussion of Emergency Landings and Survival.
Air Traffic Controllers of the Syracuse Air Traffic Control Tower will discuss best practices for runway safety, how to leverage the most out of utilizing air traffic services and local air traffic issues.
Dr. Nichols, a FAA Aeromedical Examiner will discuss aeromedical issues, recent changes in the area of aeromedical certification and is available to answer any medical questions that attendees may have.
Guido Hassig, FAA Safety Team Program Manager will discuss preventative maintenance and those tasks that pilots are authorized to perform themselves without an aviation maintenance technician (AMT).
Colonel Greg A. Semmel of the New York Air National Guard (NYANG) is the Commander of the 174th Attack Wing. He will discuss what pilots can expect from them when the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (REAPER) commence operations in the Syracuse area.
