Mr. Clinton Crookshanks, (NTSB) holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada, and a MS degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado.  He has been involved in many international accident investigations, including the Space Shuttle Columbia and in-flight breakup of China Airlines Boeing B-747.  Mr. Crookshanks will present a detailed account of the accident investigation conducted for the P-51D "Galloping Ghost" accident during the 2011 Reno National Championship Air Race.  He will provide a comprehensive background on the aircraft involved and the many modifications done on the aircraft.  He will also present a split second account of the final phase of the accident sequence including speed, altitude, control surface position and more.  Photos and videos available from air race fans aided in the accident investigation.  The presentation will cumulate with the NTSB finding(s) of "Probable Cause of the accident and contributing factors, if any.
