Rochester WINGS 2012 Expo and Fly-In

We are excited to be inviting you back to Rochester WINGS 2012! In attendance will be thousands of pilots, crews, Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMTs), repairmen, aviation business owners, dealer representatives, and many more active members of the General Aviation Industry.

This year’s event will be held in the US Airports luxurious corporate hangar facilities located on Scottsville Road at the Greater Rochester International Airport (KROC) on June 8th and June 9th.

The coordinators of Rochester WINGS 2012 are energized to continue our new focus this year: to cultivate and assist others from all walks of life to begin learning to fly. Many of our new events, seminars, and activities will be centered around giving people of every demographic the opportunity to learn about careers in aviation, meet a CFI, get connected with a mentor, take a Discovery flight and start working towards a rating. There will be numerous avionics demonstrations, learning stations for students, safety seminars, flight simulators and many more hands on events.

If you are a part of the aviation community in the Northeast then you want to be here!

  • Friday, June 8th, will feature a day long event to qualify for Inspection Authorization (IA) refresher training. IA’s, AMTs, repairmen, owners, and pilots will find great value in these aircraft maintenance seminars as well as the time to come together and collaborate as a community. Running concurrent to the IA Refresher Course will be the FSDO Repair Station meeting. Dozens of FAA certificated repair stations from throughout Central and Western, NY will be in attendance.

  • Saturday, June 9th activities will include a full day of seminars of interest to pilots, students and aviation enthusiasts. We are excited to announce that this year’s Rochester WINGs event will feature the annual Rochester FSDO Helicopter Safety Summit. Rochester WINGs and the Rochester, NY FSDO have partnered with Helicopter Association International (HAI), the largest helicopter association in the world! Helicopter flight schools, helicopter technicians and private helicopter pilots from across the region will be in attendance. We will have a large static display of general aviation aircraft, old and new including everything from typical airplanes that students could expect to train in to classic jets. The day will be filled with exciting learning stations for all ages, career path seminars, avionics demonstrations, guided bus tours of runways and taxiways, new aircraft for sale, flight reviews and many more activities.
