iPad Revolutionized Cockpit: The Basics

with Toréa Rodriguez

March 17, 2012

10:00 to 12:00 pm

During the last decade, the aircraft cockpit has transitioned from round gauges to glass cockpits. Now, consumer electronics are making their way into the cockpits as useful tools. Toréa Rodriguez has been teaching and flying professionally since 2005. During that time, she has specialized in glass-cockpits, technically advanced aircraft and now Electronic Flight Bags. Come find out how the Apple iPad is revolutionizing the cockpit and is quickly becoming a popular tool from pre-flight planning to enroute operations in both GA and commercial aviation. This discussion will also include live demonstrations of some of the popular applications used on the iPad in aviation today.

Toréa Rodriguez, ATP, CFI, CFII, MEI and AGI, with a Citation Encore Type rating, is the COO at Coradine Aviation Systems, previously a corporate pilot and flight instructor in the San Francisco Bay Area. Toréa started flying in 2002 and has been a Flight Instructor since 2005.  She specializes in technically advanced aircraft like the Diamond DA-42, G100- equipped Cessna’s, Beechcraft King Air, TBM 700 and the TBM 850. Toréa is a member of the Santa Clara Valley 99s and accepted the Professional Pilot of the Year award in 2007. She is a member of the leadership team for the 99s Professional Pilot Leadership Initiative program.
