Ever fly into a rain shower, a snow shower, sleet, hail and then pop into brilliant sunshine, all within the space of a few miles?  If you have, you have probably experienced flight in the Convergence Zone of western Washington.  The Convergence Zone is studied world-wide and you hear the TV forecasters talk about it all the time...but what is it and how does it form?  And how in the world does it move up and down the I-5 corridor?

Allen Kam from the National Weather Service will lead you through the formation of this unusual weather phenomenon that pilots in the Northwest have to deal with, especially in the winter months.
