ZID Operation Rain Check Overview: In the fall of 2009, Indianapolis ARTCC (ZID) System Operations will begin briefing general aviation pilots with our revised and updated Operation program. Our Purpose: This informal presentation will allow us to build relationships in the general aviation community (outreach) as well as build pilot confidence operating in the National Airspace System (education).

The Team: ZID has teamed up with top representatives from the Air Traffic Control and aviation safety communities to educate pilots on safe practices and successful use of the Air Traffic Control System as part of cockpit resource management.

The Presentation: This skilled team is developing a 2 hour town hall type presentation which we will "take on the road" to pilots underlying Indianapolis Centers airspace. This comprehensive presentation will touch on subjects important to improving system safety such as: Aviation Meteorology, operating in the Air Route Traffic Control Center environment, operating in the Terminal Radar Approach Control environment, Runway Safety, System Operations, and FAA Grass Routes Initiative. This safety briefing will qualify for the WINGS PROGRAM.

Thank you for your commitment to helping ensure a safe future for general aviation.
