Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):

This seminar is part of a week long series of Safety seminars to be presented throughout the PHL FSDO 17 area. Standup for Safety is a concerted effort to help reduce aircraft accidents.  This Pre-Season initiative early in the flying season will afford pilots an awareness of the leading causes of aircraft accidents and how to avoid becoming a aircraft accident statistic and victim.

This exclusive program is in Partnership with New Jersey Division of Aeronautics. Ron Harbist of NJDOT will discuss the leading causes of aircraft accidents in New Jersey. Ron has investigated the accidents; He will provide a first hand account of his findings.

The second presentation by Bart Ritorto of NJDOT is titled "Bringing Your Aircraft Out of Mothballs". Bart will discuss maintenance issues common to aircraft that have been parked for some time.  Spring is upon us! Most aircraft have sat on the ground for months without being flown. There are many hazards and areas of concern; You as the Pilot in Command should be aware of these hazards before flying!
