A look at the search and rescue system and the February phase-out of 121.5 MHz satellite monitoring.
Brief Description:
On 2/1/09 the International Cospas-Sarsat Program will stop monitoring 121.5 MHz distress signals. After this point, the search and rescue satellites will only process signals received on the 406 MHz emergency frequency.
