Title:
CFIA - Chicago Flight Instructor Association Monthly Meeting
Topic:
DPEs and CFIs Present Topics of Interest Based on Safety Trends and Practical Test Observations
Speaker(s):
Alan Zielinski, ATP, CFII, DPE
Brief Description:
All aviators are welcome: students, pilots, and instructors.
Alan and local instructors present on topics where examiners are finding deficiencies or timely events and discuss ways to fly, learn, instruct, and even think about flying.
Moderator: Alan Zielinski
Alan is a well-known FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and flight instructor for aircraft and balloons. As a single-engine and jet pilot, instructor, and examiner, he has over 11,000 hours of accident-free flying experience. He is one of us, an aviation addict, flying his own Cessna Skyhawk XP and his clients' Cessna Citations, as well as gliders and balloons; clearly, Alan has a passion for flying! He is also the president of the Chicago Flight Instructor Association, advancing the knowledge, understanding, and capabilities of the local rank-and-file instructors.

The CFIA organization was formed to assist and guide flight instructors through the pitfalls of ever-changing training techniques, regulations, and legal consequences.
Through ongoing Chicago Flight Instructor Association safety seminars and other sponsored safety programs, we are improving pilots' and instructors' knowledge and skills.
We meet the second Monday in February, March, April, and May; we skip the summer months; then we meet again in September, October, and November.
The CFIA received the Illinois Aviation Hall of Fame 1997 Spirit of Flight Award, honoring that accomplishment.
See the website at Chicago Flight Instructor Association for more information.
