The use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) or 'Drones', is expanding and beginning to replace traditional aircraft and helicopters for agricultural, survey, and package delivery. Their small size and high maneuverability can create an unique collision hazard with other aircraft. We will discuss what, where, and how these UAS operate and how the FAA designates airspace restrictions.

Additionally, the upcomng Part 108 UAS rules will provide for larger turbine powered UAS to operate in the national airspace that are presently receiving approvals for flight testing at many large airports.
