Brief Description:
Most mid-air collisions occur in daylight, in good weather, and within just a few miles of an airport. Could the next one involve you? While pilots often think of mid-air collisions as rare events, the circumstances leading to them are surprisingly common. Understanding how these accidents develop is the first step toward preventing them.
This seminar examines the factors that contribute to mid-air collisions, including visual scanning techniques, traffic pattern operations, radio communications, ADS-B capabilities and limitations, right-of-way rules, human factors, and situational awareness. Through accident case studies and real-world scenarios, attendees will learn practical strategies for identifying developing conflicts, managing cockpit workload, and operating safely in both towered and non-towered environments.
