Brief Description:

The importance of managing the Gross Weight and Center of Gravity (CG) of your general aviation aircraft is critical to a successful flight.  We will discuss how these factors affect aircraft stability, control authority, and flight safety. 

1st Lt Tom Alston has over 24 years of Aerospace Engineering experience.  He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University in 2002 and an MBA from the University of Washington in 2012.  Has worked for GE Power Systems (now GE Vernova), Ansys, and over 21 years at Boeing.  He earned his Private Pilot license early in 2024 and has over 300 hours of Flight Time. Tom also serves as an Assistant Operations Officer in Fallbrook Squadron 87.
