Dr. Samantha Bowyer is an Associate Professor of Aeronautical Science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and an experienced aviation educator with a career spanning flight training, secondary education, and higher education. Beginning her instructional career at age 19, she has taught across Part 61 and Part 141 flight training programs, served as a Chief Flight Instructor, and developed innovative aviation education pathways for students at multiple levels. Her work focuses on curriculum design, instructional excellence, and creating meaningful pathways that prepare students for successful aviation careers. Drawing on both industry experience and academic research, Dr. Bowyer is passionate about developing engaging learning experiences that support student success and instructor effectiveness. She is also dedicated to mentoring aspiring aviation professionals and advancing aviation education through innovative teaching practices, collaborative partnerships, and research that strengthens the future of flight training and the next generation of aviation educators.

This presentation is offered during the 2026 ASCEND Flight Training Summit.

FAA WINGS preregistration is not required for activities offered during ASCEND.
