Brief Description:
Dave Warner, Recreational Aviation Foundation (RAF) Ambassador for Southern Illinois, will discuss the considerations in planning a trip to back country airports, especially airports at higher, more remote destinations. Density altitude, runway surface, slope and condition and obstructions are all considerations. Having the equipment you need is also a consideration. This is NOT Oshkosh camping. The RAF supports the development and maintenance of back country airports in locations all over the United States. This presentation will also showcase their work in this area.
