Title:
NAFI 2026 - Teaching Aircraft Systems - Making the Complex Click
Topic:
If You're a New CFI or a Seasoned Instructor, This Seminar Will Give You Tools to Teach What Truly Keeps Pilots Safe
Speaker(s):
Howard Greenberg
Brief Description:
Today's student pilots often lack the hands-on mechanical exposure that previous generations took for granted — and many CFIs share the same gaps. This seminar tackles that challenge head-on. Join NAFI Associate Master CFI Howard Greenberg for a practical, instructor- focused session on teaching aircraft systems in a way that students understand and remember. Drawing on decades of aviation and professional training experience, Howard breaks down complex topics — from how a piston engine really works to electrical theory — using everyday analogies, real-world scenarios, and memorable teaching techniques that make abstract concepts stick. You'll learn how to teach students to correlate cockpit instrument readings to actual system conditions, handle engine and electrical emergencies with confidence, and make the POH a practical tool — not an afterthought. Whether you're a new CFI or a seasoned instructor, this seminar will give you confidence and tools to teach what truly keeps pilots safe.
