Brief Description:

The EAA VMC Club provides a "hangar flying" experience organized around visual flight, in order to promote safety, education, and proficiency.

Every meeting consists of a scenario presentation and group discussion about unusual or interesting charts, changed rules and procedures, and member experiences.

The scenario we will discuss at this meeting is titled "Starved of Attention" and describes a 40-minute VFR flight in a personally owned Piper PA-32 to pick up a friend. About halfway to your destination, the engine loses partial power. What would you do?

Bring your EFB, your experience, and your questions, and be ready to participate.

All are welcome.  You do not need to be an EAA member to attend

We will also be discussing how you can earn WINGS Credit.

What is the EAA VMC Club?

EAA provides monthly program resources in the form of actual VMC (Visual Meteorological Conditions) related scenarios designed to encourage open discussion, and for all participants to answer the question “What would you do if this happened to you?”

What is the purpose of EAA VMC Club?

The purpose of EAA VMC Clubs is to promote flying, proficiency, and safety. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety, and build proficiency in flying.

EAA VMC Clubs are extensions to local EAA chapters and offer monthly VMC program meetings where pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences.

Do you need to bring anything?

First, bring your thoughts or story and be willing to share them with the group.  This meeting is very interactive.  Participation by the group is a fundamental element to the EAA/VMC Club meeting.

Others have found it helpful to bring along a copy of their flight manual, GPS manual, and charts.  If you navigate with an iPad, bring it along.
