Title:
Exploring Artificial Intelligence And Machine Learning In Aviation
Topic:
Taking A Look At The Intelligent Cockpit Of Tomorrow
Date and Time:
Friday, May 15, 2026, starting at 13:00 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Jay Schrankler
Brief Description:

A pilot from 1995 steps into a modern cockpit and finds it unrecognizable: massive glass displays, touchscreens, voice commands, real-time weather, and AI-driven maintenance alerts. This sets the stage for a tour through the forces reshaping avionics, including the industry's legacy challenges and why technological transformation is no longer optional for aviation's future.  The heart of the presentation focuses on AI and Machine Learning as the twin engines of change.  Machine learning complements this by adapting to individual aircraft, routes, and pilot behavior over time, growing smarter with every flight. Navigation systems are evolving in parallel, with centimeter-accurate GPS, augmented reality displays, 3D synthetic vision, and integrated drone traffic management redefining what the cockpit can do.  In summary we look at the intelligent cockpit of tomorrow — voice control, eye-tracking, gesture interfaces, and AI decision-support systems.
