Title:
Fifteen Minutes Of Fame
Topic:
How To Avoid Being A News Headline And An NTSB Statistic
Speaker(s):
Jim Dickerson
Brief Description:
In an era dominated by social media, where individuals frequently pursue fleeting recognition through everyday posts—ranging from meals to personal moments—aviation stands apart. No pilot desires notoriety as the central figure in an NTSB probable cause report or FAA enforcement action. Despite extensive safety initiatives, recurrent training, and ongoing industry emphasis on risk management, pilot-related factors—commonly referred to as pilot error—continue to account for approximately 70% of general aviation accidents. This interactive program will attempt to elevate standards to ensure that any "15 minutes of fame" in aviation comes from skillful, responsible flying—not from accident reports.
