Date and Time:
Friday, April 17, 2026, starting at 18:00 Mountain Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Jared Essleman, SVR FBO Manager; Kevin Thornock, GA Manager
Brief Description:

This seminar introduces Jared Esselman, the new FBO Manager of SVR Jet Center, which began operations at South Valley Regional Airport on April 1. The discussion will focus on how FBO operations influence ramp safety, aircraft movement, and pilot decision-making in a congested airport environment. Topics include ramp congestion, marshalling, fueling safety, and common pilot behaviors that contribute to risk. The discussion will also explore how ground operations affect traffic flow and conflicts in the pattern at a non-towered airport beneath the SLC Class B shelf. Emphasis is placed on practical techniques pilots can use to improve coordination, situational awareness, and overall safety in and around SVR.

Kevin Thornock, General Aviation Manager, will be available to support and answer questions related to airport operations, traffic flow, and procedures.
