Brief Description:

Whether you are a private, commercial, or military pilot, or a manager who is responsible for dispatching aircraft, it’s important to fully possess the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to fly in low-visibility environments under VFR. The instructor will take you through everything you need to know to identify, plan, prepare, train, and recover from a flight that inadvertently enters a situation where visibility is reduced to the point of being in instrument meteorological conditions (IMC). The course will cover topics that include: The differences between VFR and IFR, and VMC and IMC Rules, regulations, and best practices How to estimate distances while in flight Basic instrument flying in a helicopter Spatial disorientation and aeromedical factors/illusions Preparing and activating an IIMC recovery plan including decision-making.
