Led by CFII Bill Thacker, this VMC Club Meeting provides an in-depth look at aviation's most frustrating landing challenge: The Float! We'll go beyond excess airspeed to decode the Aerodynamics of Approach and Landing.

  • Newton & Bernoulli Exposed: Learn how to leverage the principles of lift and drag for consistently better and safer landings.
  • The Power of the Numbers: Understand the derivation of approach and landing speeds in your POH.
  • Flaps, Speeds, and Conditions: Discuss real-world factors (weight, weather, etc.) to choose the perfect flap and speed settings.

Sharpen your proficiency and gain the knowledge to nail every landing!

The purpose of EAA Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC) Clubs is to promote recreational flying, proficiency, and safety. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety, and build proficiency in VFR day and nighttime operations. EAA VMC Clubs are extensions to local EAA chapters and offer monthly VMC program meetings where pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences. Since 2017,  pilots have improved their proficiency through the EAA VMC club programs and they love it.
