Brief Description:

The Fire Boss Aerial Fire Fighting System is an Air Tractor 802 on amphibious scooping floats. Known in the industry for its agility, flexibility and cost effective delivery of water on fires, the Fire Boss is a unique aircraft to fly.
This presentation will highlight the design and operation of the aircraft while exploring the presenters journey in the initial checkout. With the ability to take on 800 gallons of water in 15 seconds, flying the Fire Boss requires a through understand of its performance at all corners of its operational limitations.
Included in the discussion will be guidelines and suggestions for all pilots to consider as they transition into new and increasingly complex aircraft. This will include setting up the aircraft checkout program and mentorship / guidance
as experience increases.
