Tanika Johnson, our esteemed guest speaker, embarked on her aviation journey at the age of 16 through the Civil Air Patrol. Over the years, she has attained significant experience as an airline pilot, having worked across three continents and even piloted a Gulfstream aircraft for Magic Johnson. For the past three years, she has been a dedicated American Airlines pilot and serves as a Flight Instructor.
Tanika has also held various noteworthy positions with the FAA, including Front Line Manager, Principal Operations Inspector, and Manager of a Flight Standards District Office. Her expertise extends to airport operations management, where she has effectively handled aircraft emergencies, bomb threats, and the issuance of Notice to Airman (NOTAMs). Additionally, she actively contributes to the aviation community as the Vice-Chair of the 99's South Florida Gold Coast Chapter and as a mentor with Sisters of the Skies.
