Brief Description:

At this exclusive event Ground Training will be covering Search Procedures as well as Mountain Flying safety, aircraft performance, emergency procedures, mountain weather/winds and there effect on aircraft performance., and survival skills.  

Note:  After completion of ground school, each CAP Pilot will fly with a Mountain Fury certified CAP training pilot to perform actual search flights in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

Directions to Venue:

All ground training will be conducted at the Asheville CAP Squadron Hangar 6, with flights originating and recovering at KAVL. Mission operations for flights will take place in the Signature FBO Conference Room. The safety presentations are expected to total approximately 3.5 hours of ground training.

Due to KAVL Airport security procedures, CAP (Badged) personnel will provide escort/transportation between Signature FBO and Hanger 6 (classroom).  Pilots may access the Ramp via the FBO to proceed to the CAP aircraft parking on the North Ramp
