Every pilot flying more than 10 miles off-shore needs to consider this course.
In case of a catastrophic engine failure, if you're beyond gliding distance to shore you will be ditching your aircraft. Your survival chances are high, but making the right moves in that situation will raise them even higher! In any case, your quest for survival will have just started.
The open ocean is unforgiving. Many factors in this maritime environment will play a role in your near future while awaiting rescue.
