Chilling Truths - Carburetor Icing and Engine Safety
Topic:
Carburetor Icing and Related Engine Safety
Speaker(s):
Nima Shafiee, Roberto Costanzo
Brief Description:
Carb ice is one of the most common, yet misunderstood, threats in piston-engine flying. In this safety seminar, we’ll cover the atmospheric conditions that lead to carburetor icing, how it affects engine performance, and what pilots can do to prevent and respond to it. With real case studies and performance data, this is a must-attend session for student pilots, renters, and CFI's alike.
Don’t wait for a surprise power loss to learn about carb ice. Whether you’re in training or already certified, this talk will help you stay ahead of this silent engine threat. Join us for an hour of safety insights and stick around afterward to share your own experiences or ask questions.
