Title:
Monthly Safety Meeting
Topic:
Accomplishing the Checklist
Brief Description:
The first documented use of checklists in aviation is associated with the Boeing B-17 "Flying Fortress" following a fatal crash on takeoff in 1935, where pilots forgot to remove the gust locks. This marked the beginning of formal checklists in aviation, significantly improving safety and standardization.
There are several ways of using and carrying out checklist items. Martin Bohn, FAASTeam Rep, Retired German Air Force Pilot, ATP, MEII, and Founder & CEO of Aerospace Next, has developed a presentation to point out the pros and cons of each method. Missing or skipping checklist items can have a catastrophic impact on your flight.
WINGS credit will be awarded to attendees.
