Topic:
These practical steps will assist pilots in flight planning and flying to avoid or navigate TFRs.
Speaker(s):
Trevor Boswell, NORAD
Brief Description:
This presentation will provide insight of the FAA’s oversight role – and the expectations the FAA has for general aviation – concerning safety in National Airspace System (NAS). Presentation will use the Integrated Oversight Philosophy (IOP) as a foundation to discuss aspects of the Compliance Program, Voluntary Reporting Programs, and Safety Management. The presentation will demonstrate how these elements are designed to cohesively work together to find, assess, and address safety issues. The presenters will use examples that are relevant to general aviation. Attendees will leave with an understanding of their role, and the FAA’s part, in managing safety in the NAS.
