Brief Description:

This presentation discusses how we apply Human Factors knowledge in our instruction and teach Human Factors concepts to our students.  The Forum introduces the topic of Human Factors and the FAASTeam Human Factors online course series. This portion of the presentation concludes with a discussion of the benefits of Positive Safety Cultures. Additionally, we will discuss Appendix A.11.4 of FAA Advisory Circular 61.83J (“…Flight Instructor Refresher Course”) which tasks flight instructors with teaching student pilots what for years it called “the impossible turn.” Finally, ATC Operators will discuss current pilot deviations (Brasher Warnings) that have occurred recently at SRQ. This forum is open to all pilots whether a CFI or not.
