This FAA Safety Event will have 2 presentations:
David St. George's presentation will be two-fold and largely interactive discussing the importance of dressing for survival and carrying a survival kit while flying in the Finger Lakes (no flip-flops and shorts please) and also the approved and recommended ways to enter and operate safely in a non-towered airport environment. (see attachment below). Also, David is Requesting that local pilots to bring and display their personal survival kits!!
Gene Benson's presentation is titled "Just This Once"
Our humanness often pushes us to engage in “just this once” activities and then reinforces successful outcomes with an increased willingness to repeat the practice.
This program examines how we are often led down the dangerous “just this once” path, but more importantly provides some practical ways to avoid this trap.

This FAA Safety Seminar will be held at the Finger Lakes Regional Airport in Seneca Falls, NY and is open to all. This event is sponsored by the Finger Lakes Area Pilots (FLAPs) Flying Club, the Finger Lakes Regional Airport Management, and the Rochester Flight Standards District Office Safety Team. We encourage all 0G7airport tenets, FLAPs members, and locals pilots to attend this very informative safety seminar.
Also, the FLAPs Club and Airport Management will be providing pizza and soda to all attendees.
