Title:
Take Charge of Your Landings - Chicago 99s Aviation Expo 2024
Topic:
Have You Done a Pre-Landing Briefing? Do You Even Have One?
Speaker(s):
Elaine Kauh, CFII, MCFI, ATP, FAASTeam Lead Representative
Brief Description:
Takeoff and landing accidents account for nearly half of all GA Accidents. Why is that? Is it that pilots are not proficient? Is it that pilots forget the basics? Maybe because they don't have a plan.
Most of us were not trained to do a pre-landing briefing. You may never have heard the term before. We need an actual plan on how the pilot will execute each approach and landing, including the touchdown point, based on the current situation.
