Brief Description:

As we accumulate more birthdays, our reaction time, mental processing, vision, cognitive abilities, memory all degrades. All these parameters effect our flying and ability to operate safely. As part of the presentation, there will be an in depth discussion on how to identify the effects of these factors and methods to compensate  for the age affects related to pilot performance.

Five Rives Aviation is located in Livermore CA adjacent to the Livermore Municipal Airport (KLVK). Exit Interstate 580 at Airport Blvd and proceed south to Terminal Circle. Turn right at Terminal Circle and proceed straight. The airport terminal will be on your left and free terminal parking on your right. Please park in the terminal parking and walk to 700 Terminal Circle which is directly west of the terminal. Enter Five Rivers Aviation through the main doors and proceed directly to the EAA 663 Meeting room.

Joe Bivaino is an ATP, CFII, MEI, COM pilot with 8400 hrs, with 3400 CFI hrs. He is also an A&P Mechanic, a FAASTeam Representative, a recipient of the Wright Brother Award, and has been flying for 55 years. He received a Civil Air Patrol Private Pilot Scholarship in 1973, served in the US Navy as an A-4 pilot and instructor in the Western Pacific, and attended the US Navy Flight Safety School. He worked at Lockheed for 33 years as a Wind Tunnel Test Engineer, Structural Test Engineer, Flight Test Engineer, including10 years as an Engineering Test Pilot having flown 3 First Flight Programs. He attended also the USC Aircraft Accident Investigation School. He has owned ten aircraft and presently owns a PA28-140, a Thorp T-18, and is building an RV-6. He holds a BS in Aeronautical Engineering and a Masters Degree in FLight Safety.
