BARRY SCHIFF - Presenter

Barry has received worldwide recognition for his wide-ranging aeronautical accomplishments and has logged more than 28,000 hours in more than 364 types of aircraft. He was a rated Airline Transport Pilot at age 21 and has earned every FAA category and class rating (except airship) and every possible instructor’s rating. Schiff retired from Trans World Airlines in 1998 after a 34-year career during which he flew everything from the Lockheed Constellation to the Boeing 747.

He holds five world speed records and has received numerous honors for his many contributions to aviation safety. These include a Congressional Commendation, the Louis Bleriot Air Medal (France), Switzerland’s Gold Proficiency Medal, and an honorary doctorate from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Schiff has also been inducted into the National Flight Instructor’s Hall of Fame, elected as an Elder Statesman of Aviation by the National Aeronautic Association, and inducted as a Living Legend of Aviation.

An award-winning journalist and author, he is well known to flying audiences for his numerous books and nearly 1,900 articles published in 111 aviation magazines, notably AOPA Pilot, of which he currently is a contributing editor.

In 1995, and with the direct approval of Jordanian King Hussein and Israeli Prime Minister Itzhak Rabin, Schiff contributed to the Middle East peace process by leading a formation of 35 airplanes carrying 135 Americans, Israelis, and Jordanians from Jerusalem to Amman. As a result, he became the first pilot ever allowed to fly between those countries.

These credentials have not diminished his passion for flying light aircraft, which he has used to span oceans and continents.

BRIAN SCHIFF - Presenter

Brian is a seasoned captain for American Airlines with a deep-seated passion for general aviation. Over his career, he has accumulated over 20,000 hours of flight time across a wide range of aircraft and has flown more than 100 different types.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI). His expertise and experience have earned him the distinction of being an active 38-year Gold Seal flight instructor and FAA Safety Team Representative. He possesses multiple flight instructor ratings and an exceptional ability to simplify complex procedures and concepts while maintaining a contagious enthusiasm for aviation and teaching.

Furthermore, Brian has been an FAA-designated examiner. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and his Master of Science Degree in Aviation Safety from the University of Central Missouri.

Brian is highly respected in the aviation community as an educator and is sought after for his engaging and informative seminars on aviation safety and techniques. He is passionate about teaching aviation safety to both student and professional pilots alike and is committed to upholding the highest standards of aviation safety.

BRIAN SNIDER - Host

Brian holds commercial pilot and flight instructor (CFI) certificates with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings as well as an advanced ground instructor certificate (AGI) and a remote pilot certificate with a small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) rating.

Prior to coming to work for the company, he obtained his rotorcraft certificates and ratings with the help of ASA training products. "As I was completing my CFII training, I discovered that ASA was right here in my backyard! I approached them with a concept for a flight training product and in short order was offered a job with the company," Snider said.

Bryan says, "For the past 15 years I have been fortunate to work on a wide range of projects from product design and development to multi-platform marketing strategies and implementation"
